The Milky Way from Scutum through Aquila and Vulpecula is captured in this multiple image mosaic. In the upper left corner is the bright star Vega in the constellation LyraThe bright star near bottom-center is Altair.The dark rift running down the center of the Milky Way is due to interstellar dust in the plane of our Galaxy. The above vista is best seen during the summer months and can only be appreciated from a dark sky location.
